Who Can Participate?
Eligibility for Student Support Services (SSS) is guided by federal regulations and program requirements. Students must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a U.S. citizen or national, or meet federal residency requirements for financial aid eligibility
- Be currently enrolled at LSU or accepted for enrollment in an upcoming term
- Demonstrate a need for academic support to successfully pursue a college degree (as determined by SSS)
Federal Eligibility Categories

| Students whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) have not earned a four-year bachelor's degree. | Students who demonstrate financial need and are eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant. Pell Grant eligibility is determined through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and may satisfy the federal financial eligibility component for Student Support Services. | Students with documented disabilities who are registered with LSU's Office of Disability Services (ODS) may be eligible to participate in Student Support Services. Through individualized support, academic guidance, and campus resources, SSS works alongside ODS to help students achieve their academic and personal goals. |
What's Next?
Once eligibility has been verified, students who are accepted into Student Support Services will receive information about the onboarding process, program expectations, and the resources available to help them succeed throughout their academic journey.
