About Student Support Services
LSU SSS PROGRAM
Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded TRIO grant program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. At LSU, SSS is dedicated to helping eligible students overcome barriers to higher education, achieve academic success, and persist through graduation.
Through individualized support services, SSS promotes student retention, academic achievement, financial literacy, and personal development while helping students successfully navigate the challenges of college life.
Whether you are beginning your LSU journey, exploring career opportunities, or preparing for graduation, SSS provides the resources, guidance, and support needed to help you reach your educational goals.

SSS Objectives
Persistence Rate: 85% of all participants served by the SSS project will persist from one academic year to the beginning of the next academic year or will have earned a bachelor’s degree at the grantee institution during that academic year.
Good Academic Standing Rate: 84% of all enrolled participants being served will meet the performance level required to stay in good academic standing at the grantee institution.
Graduation Rate: 60% of new participants served each year will graduate from the grantee institution with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent within six (6) years.
