LSU Career Expo Connects Students with More Than 250 Employers

The Fall Career Expo is LSU’s largest recruiting event of the year and is open to students and alumni of all majors. This year’s event drew 2,448 students and 900 employer representatives representing more than 250 companies.

LSU Sensors Pinpoint Escaping Gases, Prevent Catastrophic Pipeline Failure

Current pipeline monitors detect leaks without identifying the escaping gas, creating a blind spot that can delay emergency responses and endanger communities. A new LSU system uses unique fiber-optic sensor coatings to tell the difference between carbon dioxide, nitrogen, methane and ordinary air flow, as well as humidity. The sensors could slash millions from monitoring, repairs and leak prevention costs.

From RA to Global Service: LSU Resident Assistant Blessing Nwina took the leadership, adaptability and humility she developed through Residential Life to Ghana, where she served 732 people through a medical mission with Global Brigades. Her experience shows how the skills students build in the residence halls can extend far beyond campus.
