Jennifer R. Curry, PhD, NCC, Vira Franklin and James R. Eagles Endowed Professor in the College of Human Sciences & Education, teaches in the counselor education program at Louisiana State University. Her research interests focus on career and college readiness and the STEM K-20 pipeline for low-income students. Her professional experiences include serving as an elementary, middle and high school counselor. She is the author of seven books on career development, including her latest, The Mental Health and Career Development Nexus: A Framework for the Role and Function of Career Practitioners, published by the National Career Development Association and a forthcoming 4th edition of her textbook, K-12 Career and College Readiness, co-authored with Amy Milsom. Curry has served as a national and international consultant, working with groups like PBS Kids, Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Guam School Counseling Association, and over 100 school districts in the continental United States, including Riverside County in Los Angeles, CA, and Fulton, Gwinnett and Cobb Counties in Atlanta, GA. She is the recipient of the American Counseling Association’s Ross Trust Award, the Judith Miranti Lifetime Service Award, the Biggs Pine Publication Award, Louisiana Counseling Association’s Research Award, Louisiana Counseling Association’s Advocacy Award, Louisiana State University’s Distinguished Faculty Award, the College of Human Sciences & Education’s Research Award, Vanderbilt’s Roger Aubrey Northstar Award and the National Career Development Association’s President’s Award.
